PR can boost your public image!
There’s no point having a great product or service if no one knows about it - that’s where good PR comes in to play. You need to get people excited about your product or service and PR can do just that for you - but don’t worry, you don’t need to start dishing out thousands on a PR agency…you can do it all yourself.
Attracting customers is a big part of getting your business of the ground but not many people actually know how to do it…after all, they don’t exactly teach it in school! Read on to discover how you can boost your business’s public image while hardly spending much money.
Media Coverage
Getting mentioned in a newspaper, or even better on TV, can be a great boost for your business. You need to create a buzz about your business and what better way to do this than to get it’s name out there into the public playground.
However, you’ll often find more success through the likes of trade publications. Whatever method you decide upon to get your image into the public eye, the best way to go about getting involved is by finding out the hottest stories out there and somehow tying in your business with them. Be fresh and get in there somehow.
Articles
Get in touch with your local newspaper and try and get them to allow you to write an article for them, or even better a weekly article. This is a great way of getting in contact with the public and providing them with useful information that they can link back to your business. If they like what they read they’ll associate good information with your business.
Blogs
Blogs can work in similar ways to newspaper articles except for the fact that they have the potential to reach millions of people around the world - however, on the flip side they also have the potential to be lost in the web.
Blogs can be great ways to engage with your customers and clients, even partners, in a way that wouldn’t otherwise be afforded to you. Blogs will also attract more visitors to your site which heightens your public image and makes you more well known.
Public Speaking
Teach classes and give lectures - get out there and speak. Talk about your business and your career, your market and you’ll be surprised who will be listening - you can get involved with speaking at local groups like the Chamber of Commerce, industry trade shows and conferences where the right people will be listening…
